What We’re About

We are Dames on a mission to empower women and strengthen local communities through theater, arm wrestling, and philanthropy.

Here's how it works:

BAWD is a bunch of fired-up Dames who toe the line between theatrical antics and hardcore athleticism. Eight Dame-identifying wrestlers with big personas, costumes, and money hungry entourages throw down in all-out arm wrestling brawls. At each of our events, badass arm wrestlers compete with each other in tournament-style matches. Tournament rules are determined and managed by the referees, whose calls are constantly manipulated by the influence of each wrestler’s entourage and crowd hecklers with dolla dolla billz. The last wrassler left standing at the end of the night receives Eternal Glory and the honor of wearing the handmade champion belt.

Our Dames are not the only winners at the end of each tournament; all proceeds raised at BAWD events go to local organizations or community projects that benefit women, girls, and others whose quality of life is negatively impacted by the Patriarchy.

Who We Werk With

Through our events, we raise funds for Boston-based organizations working to smash the Patriarchy. BAWD is a labor of love (and outrage); we are a volunteer-powered collective.

Does your organization or project fit the bill? Do you want to scheme with us? Drop us a line.
